Sandro Novaes is a Brazilian visual artist, researcher and teacher born in 1976. He holds a PhD in Art History: Artistic Creation and Critical Reflection from the University of Granada, Spain.
In his visual production he investigates questions related to the understanding of time, spatiality, immateriality and the phenomenological relation between the work and the viewer. He develops visual narratives that play with the presence of the line in its multiple forms, interacting with painting, sculpture, drawing and installation. He has taken part in group exhibitions in Brazil and Spain. In Brazil, one of his works is part of the collection of MAR, the Rio Art Museum, and two other monumental works belong to public collections in Espírito Santo: Aurora, installed in the Casa do Governador Sculpture Park, and Nest Experiment (Experimento Nido), in the Reserva Vitória cultural park.
