Brazilian photographer and guest collaborator of Sur Gallery, Gabriel Lordello has spent his career turning his lens on the margins of cities, popular culture, and lived religiosity. His first encounter with photography came at twelve, when his father lent him a camera for a school trip — a moment that set the course of his practice.
He holds a degree in Photojournalism and a postgraduate qualification in Communication Management, and spent ten years (2004–2014) as a photojournalist and editor at the newspaper A Gazeta. He is a founding partner of Mosaico Imagem photography agency and of Mosaico Fotogaleria, a space established in 2018 in Vitória, Brazil, dedicated to exhibitions, workshops, talks, and events centred on photography.
His artistic work pursues the beauty hidden in the everyday — street corners, acts of faith, fragments of popular culture that pass unnoticed. Each photograph is an invitation to look again at the world just beyond the city centre.
